Project Overview

The project involves the replacement and upgrade of ageing assets to enhance network reliability, resilience and operational performance, while supporting the integration of future low-carbon generation. REDAS is proud to represent GEV and contribute its Protection & Control and secondary engineering expertise to the ongoing development and modernisation of the UK’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure. REDAS was appointed as designer and CDAE for the works

Technical Details

Scope of Work

Site survey and condition assessment of existing protection and secondary systems
Detailed design of replacement protection and control schemes
Protection settings calculation and coordination
Design in line with National Grid specifications and industry standards
Factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT)
On-site commissioning, including secondary injection and functional testing
Outage sequencing and transition planning
Decommissioning of redundant secondary equipment
As-built drawings, test records and handover documentation
